Pro-Environmental Behavior of Employees to Realize Green Hotel at Novotel Bali Nusa Dua

Abstract

Purpose: The rise of the tourism industry has led to the consumption of a number of natural resources such as energy and water, and the generation of even greater amounts of waste. This indicates that environmental conditions have suffered a lot of damage, which has led to increased global warming and rampant pollution. Law No. 32 of 2009 concerning Environmental Protection and Management Article 3, states that the protection and management of the environment aims, among others, to ensure safety, health and human life, realize sustainable development and anticipate global environmental issues.

Research methods: The research method used is observation, questionnaires with non-probability sampling technique type purposive sampling as many as 65 respondents representing all departments, interviews with 3 respondents and literature study. The data analysis technique used is descriptive qualitative and quantitative data analysis simple linear regression with the help of data processing of the IBM SPSS Statistics 25 application.

Findings: The implementation of pro-environmental behavior by Novotel Bali Nusa Dua employees has been well implemented but there are several obstacles, that are occurrence of leaks at the stampede faucet due to the large enough water pressure and the fingerprint machine often jams when taking attendance so the process takes a long time. The results of simple linear regression show that there is a strong correlation with the pearson correlation value of 0,648, and in the T-hypothesis test, a comparison of the t-count and t-table values is obtained, namely 6,754 > 1,669 with a significance level and alpha value of 0,00 <0,05 , then Ha is accepted and H0 is rejected.

Implications: The contribution of the pro-environmental behavior variable (X) to the green hotel variable (Y) is 41,1%, while 58,9% is influenced by other variables not examined in this study..
