DESIGN OF A DOCUMENTARY FILM ABOUT SONGKE WOVEN CLOTH IN GULUNG VILLAGE, MANGGARAI REGENCY

Purpose: This research aims to introduce one of the intangible cultural heritages of Manggarai Regency, specifically Gulung Village, namely Songke woven cloth, through a documentary film. Furthermore, the creation of this documentary film represents a form of cultural digitization that will be highly beneficial for the future.
Research methods: This study used qualitative research methods, collecting primary data in the form of interviews and observations, and secondary data in the form of literature and documentation. The film's design involved three steps: pre-production, production, and post-production.
Findings: The result of this research is a 10-minute documentary film that explains the process of making Songke woven cloth, its benefits, and its significance in society. During pre-production, the film's idea or concept was first determined, followed by the visual strategy and storyboard. During production, the film was shot according to the storyboard. Finally, editing was carried out, combining the images and audio.
Implications: This documentary is very useful for introducing one of Manggarai Regency's cultures to the younger generation, enabling them to preserve one of Manggarai Regency's traditions.
